PSAs

I’ve switched the ad on the left from google’s adserver to a PSA (public service announcement), that I’ll update myself. This first one was chosen since it is first in alpha order (Adoption). It takes about 5 minutes to change, and I’ll change it at least once a month. If you have any requests, just reply to this post. Here are your choices:

Adoption
Afterschool Participation
Blood Donation
Booster Seat Education

Community Drug Prevention
Disease Prevention
Domestic Violence Prevention
Drunk Driving Prevention
Early Childhood Development
Emergency Preparedness
Father Involvement
High School Dropout Prevention
Mentoring - BBBS
Obesity Prevention
Parental Involvement in Schools
Secondhand Smoke
Youth Voter Participation and Civic Engagement

This list is interesting as well, since it represents a kind of “politically correct” list of causes that “America” is willing to rally behind. When I say “America”, I mean the U.S. Government (via tax dollars), and the media (via free space). It is the full list of ads targeted to English speaking adults (that had an internet banner of the right size), so…to be fair, there are more.

What strikes me is how many are focused on our children. 8 out of 17 (counting conservatively…that is – I didn’t count Secondhand Smoke). That’s 47%.
