Thursday, June 9th

Last night I played games with some friends, while Courtney saw a movie with a couple friends (it was an "art film" - meaning it isn't in all theatres). She liked the movie, and I had fun as well.

The girls had their first day with a new babysitter yesterday. They seem to like her - it bodes well for the rest of the summer.

I'm playing poker tonight, and in the morning (6am!) we are leaving to drive to Kansas to attend Sarah's (my cousin) wedding. The girls are going to be flower girls. We'll spend Friday and Saturday nights there (in Lawrence), and then come back on Sunday - a lot of driving, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure I'll have a picture or two to share...

Poker - and Packing

Tonight I have a poker game (just small stakes $0.05/$0.10 blinds/ante). I've had trouble filling out the roster - must be the memorial day weekend. I still have two seats open last time I looked (I use e-vite)...he checks...yep, still two open seats.

The girls are leaving tomorrow for Memphis (they'll be back Monday), so I assume they'll be packing tonight.

At work, I'm upgrading our donor tracking software. Could be quite interesting (as interesting as these things get, that is).

City-Wide Kickball Champs!

The subject says it all! Congrats, Lady Lyons!

I've got to keep it quick, since I'm off to an all-day (Saturday!?) board meeting at work and I'm already late as it is.

Oh - how did poker go last night you say? Well, let me tell you - I won $60 (pure blind, stinking, luck - no skill here (at least, not this time)). Thanks to Knute for hosting!

Friday Morning Kickball Update

Rained out yesterday, the FINAL GAME to determine who are the CITY-WIDE KICKBALL CHAMPS (for 4th grade catholic girls) is TONIGHT at 4:30. Stay tuned.

I stayed home from work (sick) yesterday. Slept 'til noon. It's nothing, really. Thanks for caring.

I play poker tonight - kinda a going-away party for an acquaintance (we have so few friends in life, don't we?). I read about friends today - mostly an exhortation to choose them wisely. I don't think I really choose my friends. They usually just kinda happen. Hmm...
