Drink More Water...the trombone...EVE

I noticed this morning (6/13) that the case of water on our kitchen floor says “Drink More Water”. In this day and age of subtle manipulation, it is SO refreshing to see such unabashed marketing tactics! No explanation, no reasons, just a command.

Can you imagine other products…”Eat more ice cream, drink more beer, buy a BMW?” It just doesn’t work.

Maddie is getting tutored on the trombone (she’ll start in band proper after the summer, I suppose). It seems like that would be a very hard instrument to play, given that there are no keys to press (just a slide). I mean, how do you know how far to push out the slide to get a certain sound? It’s beyond me.

This weekend we went to a movie (something “3”) and then out to dinner with the Peruns, and on Sunday we went to a cookout at the Murphy’s (played Werewolf three or four times). The werewolves only won once, but they should have one twice since the moderator was a first-timer and she outed the seer accidentally.

About a week ago, our alliance was wardecced (declared war on) by a coalition of mercenary forces for an unknown reason. So, I’ve spent the past week unable to mine…just training up my combat skills (since I didn’t have any) and trying to get teamspeak (TS) (software which allows me to talk with the other players for free, in a huge conference call) to work on my computer.

Just last night, I finally finished my minimal combat training (it took about four days), and got TS to work! Unfortunately (depending on how you look at it), the war ended before I could fire a single shot. How disappointing.

Oh well, back to mining. Now I’m training to be able to fly a strip-mining ship...
