Main Terminal, Rome, Italy
Sitting in an outdoor cafe at the main train station - alone, believe it or not, for the moment. John is refilling watter bottles at the WC, and the girls are shopping.
We've just come from the largest of Rome's catacombs. Estimates over 400,000 buried there, including 16 popes (they've found 14 of the crypts, so they're still looking=.
Our main sustenance on the trip has been excellent hot ham and cheese sandwiches (mostly due to the fact that Italians eat dinner so late - about 10p - and they don't even serve pasta before 7p). My pen seems to be running out of ink.
The weather here (as I'm sure you were wondering) is perfect - unless you're in the direct sun, then it gets a bit hot (after I wrote this I bought some sunscreen...$18 - yikes).
Court and I decided Maddie and Molly would like the sights of Rome; if only they could be magically transported from one to the other, without having to walk from one to another or wait for a bus. Most are truely awesome, if for no other reason than they are big.
John just popped back, having failed to obtain water (there being only HOT water in the WCs). He's gone again now to check out the bookstore.
He's back - bye!
