Everyone returns today
Everyone returns today - Courtney and her side of the family from HI, and the girls from Shakaween.
It'll be great to see them all again!
The conference yesterday was a huge success, in terms of numbers, and (imho) the quality of the speakers. They were expecting about 400, and got 900.
...interruption...
Maddie and the Moll are home now, Molly is sleeping, and the first thing Maddie did was take a shower. Both of them said they didn't have a good time (since it rained the whole time).
My chess order came, and I've read through the book once, and am going through it again now, highlighting things to emphisize. I've been playing against a computer program (since it's like 100x faster than a human, I can play many more games). After about 60 games, I've got an ELO rating of about 550 (the average "club player" is about 1300). A rating difference of 200 points means that the higher rated player should win or draw about 75% of the time.
OLL's fall festival (carnival) is coming up the weekend of Oct. 1st. I just signed up a bunch of parents to man the 3rd grade booth. I say "man", and "parents", but I should say "woman", and "mothers", since it's just the mothers who end up working. No surprise there. I'm sure some Dads'll end up helping too...
