Gen Con Day #3
I had a ticket to play a four hour game of "Doom", but decided that I didn't want to commit that much time to one game, so I traded it in for
- "Vegas Showdown" (2 hours), and
- Grand Prix (2 hours).
Grand Prix didn't end up happening for some reason, so I went over to play "Cosmic Cows" (like Yatzee, but more competitive, and with cute little cows) and then "Sitting Duck" (during which one of the players' fathers quit the game in the middle with a grumbling "THIS IS THE MOST INCONSISTENT GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED" as he threw his cards on the table and stomped out of the room).
I don't recall ever having seen a player act so childish in my gaming career, and I was embarassed for his son, who continued to play, seemingly nonplussed.
I played "The Great Space Race" (VERY cool game - a cross between RoboRally and something else, which I would buy, if it didn't cost $50) somewhere in there, then...
At 9pm, I started playing Werewolf, and didn't stop until 6am. That's right - 8 solid hours of Werewolf. This was the most fun of the whole 'con (and, at $1.50, the best value). Turns out there are people who play it for three solid days! Yikes!

why don't you buy the amazing space race game for your b-day from the 'rents in E-ville?????????????? (to be reimbursed, naturally).
Well, aren't you nice! I'll order it! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR Kieron on Sept. Xth, Happy Birthday to me...
I use X, for security reasons. ;-)
We all know that you really don't remember which day is your b-day. Hence the X. But don't worry, I won't blow the whistle.
Glad to see that you're amenable to spelling corrections.
I's rather be gay in a happy marriage than a sharkbitten drownee.
